Singapore 04/01/2016 - China’s electrolytic aluminium production rose 10.4 percent year-on-year to 29.1 million tonnes in January-November, according to data published by the country’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) last Thursday.
The growth rate has slowed from the 11.3 percent year-on-year rise in January-October, where aluminium output had totalled 26.46 million tonnes.
Copper production increased 5.7 percent year-on-year to 7.26 million tonnes in the first eleven months of the year.
The growth has also eased from the 6.8 percent year-on-year increase in January-October. Copper output had reached 6.46 million tonnes during the period.
Output of lead slipped five percent year-on-year to 3.56 million tonnes, while that for zinc increased 6.8 percent year-on-year-on-year to 5.69 million tonnes in the year-to-November.
In January-October, lead production had fallen 4.6 percent year-on-year to 3.22 million tonnes, while that for zinc rose eight percent year-on-year-on-year to 5.16 million tonnes.
Chinese aluminium, copper and zinc output had grown 4.2 percent and 1.8 percent year-on-year respectively, while lead and zinc production had fallen 8.8 percent and 2.4 percent year-on-year respectively in November.
In October, Chinese aluminium, copper and zinc output had grown 5.4 percent, 0.6 percent and 0.6 percent year on-year respectively, while lead production had fallen 6.6 percent year-on-year.
NDRC did not give absolute production figures for the monthly figures.
