Singapore 26/02/2016 - Nickel output at China’s largest nickel producer Jinchuan Group is expected at 11,500-12,000 tonnes in February, up from around 10,500 tonnes in January, a company source told FastMarkets.

The increase reverses the decline in January, whereby output had decreased from production of 11,500 tonnes in December.

The output in February depended on “sales and prices”, he said.

While production is expected to increase month-on-month in February, the official noted that the company’s nickel production is curtailed by limited ore supply.

In November last year, Jinchuan said it would stop production at the West One District of its mining areas while reducing raw material purchases in line with planned production cuts of at least 20 percent in 2016.
