London 14/07/2016 - Access World - formally Pacorini Metals AG - has received approval to list metal in Comex sheds.

The Glencore subsidiary can now store Comex aluminium, copper and zinc in New Orleans while in Baltimore and Owensboro it can list aluminium and zinc. Finally, in Rotterdam and Vlissingen it has approval for lead.

This comes at a time when the company's core business of handling and storing LME-traded metals is becoming increasingly complex and financially less attractive due to the implementation of new rules related to load-out requirements, queue management and incentives.

Access World has been making a big push into other areas and commodities such as the handling and storage of ferro-alloys.

It also provides logistics services and warehousing for a growing range of products including soft commodities, lumber, paper and pulp, project cargo, ferroalloys and concentrates.

In July 2013, it bought South Africa-based warehouse and logistics operator Access Freight, with the view of getting a share of the increasingly attractive copper business in Africa.
