London 23/08/2016 - Ivan Petev has left Macquarie Bank in Singapore and is currently on gardening leave, FastMarkets understands.

Petev was in charge of Macquarie's global copper book from December 2014 to helped to expand the bank's physical metal trading business.

He was previously at JP Morgan Chase & Co as managing director of base metal trading from 2010 alongside William Gayner, a physical trader in copper, zinc and lead who also joined Macquarie as a copper and nickel trader in London.

Both Petev and Gayner worked at RBS Sempra Commodities, which Royal Bank of Scotland sold to JP Morgan in 2010.
